General Information
Philosophy
We believe that every child is an amazing gift and extremely talented. Over the past fifteen years we have been very blessed to have thousands of parents entrust their most precious treasures to us. Children’s Theatre of Nantucket is a division of Faraway Stars Productions, Ltd. and is organized exclusively for the educational purpose of providing Nantucket Island residents and visitors a place to express themselves artistically through theatre.
Venue
Because of a change in the performance venue tickets are FREE for the 2011 season. Performances for 2011 occur in a classroom rather than the auditorium.
Join Us
If you are between the ages of 8 and 16, have an ability to focus on the task at hand, have very good reading and retention skills, are able to memorize a script, follow directions well and genuinely enjoy the thrill of performance before an audience.

Things Parents Must Agree to
- Participation by an "under 8" is by permission/invitation only.
- Performance tickets are NOT included in the participation fees (except for Artists-In-Residence).
- Parents, siblings, babysitters, or house guests/friends are never, not EVER, allowed at rehearsals (insurance regulations). If your child is not ready to do this without a familiar support system, your child is not ready for this program.
- Generally, with the exception of Artists-In-Residence, no rehearsals can be missed. Not one! Not for any reason.
- With the exception of child bereavement*, the staff is not trained to deal with children who have special needs of any kind: mental, emotional, medical, or physical. We have a zero tolerance behavior policy.
*Over the past years, this program has been beneficial for children who are dealing with a loss
Children’s Theatre of Nantucket is an equal opportunity star shiner!
